Review: Cuff Me at Christmas by Lark Avery

Published Dec. 2019

It was one night. One f*cking glorious night with Max Ransom– arrogant asshole, brilliant MD and trusted colleague.

Then I discovered the growly Scottish “heir to spare “ in my bed was the new Duke of Douglas.

It’s not 2019, not 1819. I’m a physician, New Yorker, and grown-ass woman. When Ransom disappeared off to his castle, I shouldered on running the emergency department of New York’s busiest hospital. I hardly ever thought about the filthy things his Scottish burr whispered to me that night. Or how my body ached for him.

But now some psycho stalker threatens my life and I’m forced to accept help from the one man that I never thought I’d see again.

Surely, I can survive Christmas in Scotland with Max Ransom, Duke of Douglas.

All I have to do is keep my panties on.

Oh f*ck. Who am I kidding?

I’m in real trouble now.

May be spoilers:

Cuff Me at Christmas has 9 chapters and an epilogue and is about Max and Jess.

They’ve both worked together for quite awhile, but he never saw her as anything other than a colleague until they are both in the same place and aren’t dressed for work.

Instaness for Max as he “sees” her for the first time.

She does have a boyfriend when they get together, nothing is really said about him, other than that. So it is technically cheating for me. She’s a virgin.

They get together and then he leaves the following morning.

They are apart for 7 months. He does try to reach out to her, but she never answers.

She needs help because there is a stalker, so she goes to Scotland, which he loves cause she can’t ignore him there.

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait for the time they are apart. It’s off page. Neither were with others while apart.

Another blip of drama and then it was over quickly.

They love each other, they just had to figure out their life together. It was a good read. Flowed well which made for a fast read.

No cheating between mcs-she did have a boyfriend when they got together-really was no point in this at all, no ow/om drama, 7 month separation.

Epilogue is a year out. They are just getting engaged and pregnant. I did love it, just wish it was further out. I gave it 🌟🌟🌟½. Thanks for reading.
