Nick Johnson went through hell during his military tours. When he finally comes home, he’s no longer the person who left that sunny day. Unable to be around his family, he finds solace as a member of The Black Tuxedos MC. The brotherhood and camaraderie help him keep his PTSD at bay and when he takes over training at the sanctuary his president’s old lady starts, he finds his niche.
Shayla Hopkins has had a life that she sums up as craptastic. Forced to flee with her nine-month old, she finds herself in a small town struggling to survive. When Nick finds her living in her van, he steps in and she finds her life changing for the better.
Can Nick put the demons from his past to rest or will he continue on his self-destructive path despite his president’s best efforts? Will Shayla finally find the family she has always longed for with Nick and his extended family? Or will her past come back and put everyone she’s come to care about in danger?
**This is book two in a series. While it is a standalone with regard to the couple, to get the best reading experience, you should read Reese first. Intended for mature audiences ages 18+ due to adult situations and scenarios**

Nick is the 2nd in The Black Tuxedos MC series. Each can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend reading in order. It has 22 chapters with an epilogue and is about Nick and Shayla.
Nick is struggling after coming home from the military and he’s finally ready to ask for help. We know from the first book that he trains dogs and helps with Corrie’s sanctuary.
Shayla is a single mom trying to take care of her daughter and on the run from Amelia’s dad. She’s living out of her van on club property.
Nick finds her and even before getting to know her, he goes into protective mode.
I love his parents. They are all in with helping and don’t hesitate at all. I would recommend reading their story in His Firefly.
I love that they take things slow even though both are all in, but both are trying to heal from their pasts.
Just a story with these 2 getting together and dealing with both their pasts.
Love that he was all in from the beginning. So sweet to each other.
No cheating, ow/om drama-his ex, Amelia’s father, separation-distance only.
Epilogue is a setup for the next story. They are married and they have Amelia and he knows she’s pregnant at the end. Really wish that it was further out, but still a great read.
Reads fast, flows well. Steam hits later in the story. Great read.
I gave it 🌟🌟🌟🌟. Have you read it? What did you think?
