Blurb: Braxton
I have spent the last ten years being miserable over the one that got away from me. I loved Lilly with all of my heart and I would do anything to be with her again.
When my dad suggested that I use a matchmaking service, I almost laughed. Now, I am glad I used Elite Matchmaking Service because it brought my girl to me.
Lilly
Walking away from Braxton in high school was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Who would have thought that a matchmaking service would bring me face to face with him again?
May be spoilers:
Second Chance Christmas Bride is the 4th in the Seven Brides of Christmas series. Each story is a standalone. This has 9 chapters and an epilogue. It’s about Lilly and Braxton and it’s a second chance love story.
When we open up, we see in the prologue that she broke up with him after 6 months together, with no real explanation. Then we skip to 10 years later, and thankfully we don’t have to deal with all that time away. We do see that neither have been celibate.
They meet again when they both have signed up with Delilah for matchmaking services, he did because of his dad. The first meet was not great, as he pretty much let her have it, especially when we find out the reason why she broke up with him and left.
He takes her out on another date 3 days later and says he’s all in. Everything moves really fast. There is really no steam. I love short stories, I really do, but this one, I just couldn’t connect with. It just didn’t work for me. They do get back together and stay together. Epilogue is 15 months later, then 5 years later. They are happily married with 4 kids and pregnant. No steaminess. I love reading stories with hot sex scenes. The one scene was fade to black. It was a decent read. I gave it 3 stars. Thanks for reading. Hope you check it out. You can get the book here: Second Chance Christmas Bride (Seven Brides of Christmas Book 4)
