Review: Handling What’s Mine by Autum Remington

Published July 2019

Blurb: Renee

What happens when you close your eyes, point to a map, and let fate decide where your next stop in life is? You end up in a small town on the Florida/Georgia line and find your destiny. Even if that destiny includes a feisty little girl, an overprotective Alpha male, more brothers than anyone would ask for, and a whole lot of adventure on the side.

Just when you think you have life under control destiny hits you with a right hook or at least sends you a woman with a mean one, and then tries to take her away. With the business I am in and being ex-military I‘m playing for keeps and Handling What’s Mine.

May be spoilers:

Handling What’s Mine is the 1st in the Hound Search & Rescue series. Has 12 chapters with an epilogue and is about Shadow and Renee.

Their first meet is not the greatest. She comes in for a job interview, but he thinks she’s so tiny, so he says something that ticks her off.

He’s fallen fast, she just as fast, even with his mouth, but she definitely holds her own. She is a badass.

I have to say that even though the flow is a little off, it actually kept my attention from the very first page. I’m not an editor, so I don’t rate on the editing.

Things do move fast when they see each other again. I love that she falls in love with his daughter just as quickly as she does him. They were great together.

The only drama really has to do with the search and rescue and Rosie May’s mom. Nothing that hurts their relationship.

I thought it was a great read. I loved it actually. Flow isn’t perfect, but the storyline itself is great.

No cheating, no ow/om drama, no separations-other than when she was taken. No talk about either of their sex lives. He does tell her and Randi, Rosie May’s mom, but that’s it.

Epilogue is just a few months down the road. I really wish it was further out, but I’m sure we will see them in the next, hopefully.

The ending is a cliffhanger, Renee is fighting with Randi and Luna is stabbed. So, it’s not a relationship cliffhanger, just a storyline one. Thank goodness the other story is out now. So, you know what I’m reading next! Luna and Irish’s story!

I gave this one 4 out of 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟
